Settings

Open Settings from the Riff menu in the menu bar. Riff saves each change as you make it.

Hot key

The default hot key is Control-Option-R. To change it, click the hot key button and press the combination you want. If another app already uses that combination, Riff keeps the one you had and shows it again.

Microphone

Riff records from the system default input unless you choose a microphone. The list updates when you connect or disconnect one. If the microphone you chose is disconnected, Riff records from the system default and keeps your choice for when it is back.

Transcription

Choose Apple Speech or Cohere Transcribe. Transcribed on your Mac explains the difference.

Updates

Riff checks for updates automatically, and you can turn that off here. The Channel menu chooses between the Stable, Latest, and Nightly builds. Check for Updates in the Riff menu looks for a new version right away.
